Olympic site relics safe, say officials

A labourer carries scaffolding at the construction site for the National Olympic Stadium, also known as the "Bird's Nest", in Beijing January 26, 2007. A 500-year-old temple lies in front of the construction site. Excavations on the land, where the iconic "Bird's Nest" National Stadium and "Water Cube" Aquatic Center now dominate the city's skyline, have unearthed a Han Dynasty graveyard. The Beijing Municipal Administration of Cultural Heritage will take good care of the cultural relics found in the construction sites of Olympic venues, said officials with the relics' preservation and protection team on Friday.
