Thousands compete in breath holding contest in Changsha

A cool completion was held on Saturday to pick out who could hold his or her breath underwater for the longest time among more than 1,000 participants in Changsha, capital of Central China's Hunan province.
At 9 am, competitors who signed up for the challenge gathered at Window of the World Park and stood ready with a bucket of water in front of them. After two minutes of preparation, the competitors dunked their heads into the water and waited to see who could hold their breath the longest. A man surnamed Li from Changsha won the contest by holding his breath for four minutes and 13 seconds , gaining the championship title and a prize worth 1,999 yuan.
