Chinese and Japanese defense ministers hold talks in Singapore

Chinese Minister of National Defense Admiral Dong Jun held talks with Japanese defense Minister Minoru Kihara in Singapore on the sidelines of the Shangri-La Dialogue on Saturday.
The talks were held on Saturday morning after the first plenary session of the elite global security conference, Shangri-La Dialogue.
Dong is now undergoing a six-day visit to Singapore, where he also participates in the Shangri-La Dialogue and will deliver a speech on China's approach to global security on Sunday morning.
One day earlier, the Chinese defense chief met with his United States counterpart, Lloyd Austin—the first face-to-face meeting between the China and US defense chiefs since 2022.
