Guangzhou Metro Group has introduced contactless card payment services for foreign passengers with bank cards issued by four international card organizations. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]

Metro operators in Guangzhou, Guangdong province have introduced contactless payment services for foreign passengers with bank cards issued by four international card organizations.

The contactless "tap-and-go" service was introduced on Sunday, three days ahead of the opening of the China Import and Export Fair.

The supported card types include MasterCard, American Express, Visa and JCB cards issued abroad, as well as MasterCard and American Express cards issued domestically that support RMB transactions.
