China's top market regulator has opened an antitrust investigation into Trip.com Group, suspecting the online travel services provider of abusing its dominant market position, the regulator said on Wednesday.

The State Administration for Market Regulation said the probe was launched after a preliminary review, in accordance with China's Anti-Monopoly Law.

Trip.com Group, one of China's largest online travel platforms, operates a range of services including accommodation bookings, transportation ticketing, and packaged travel products. The company has yet to publicly respond to the investigation.
