A tripartite Memorandum of Understanding was signed on May 5 between China Shandong Tongshan Group, Riphah International University, and China Pakistan Medical Association to enhance cooperation in medical education, research, and healthcare.
The agreement was signed by Li Xiao, Hassan Muhammad Khan, and Dr. Muhammad Shahbaz, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening cross-border collaboration.
Focus on Education, Research and Healthcare
The MoU outlines cooperation in medical and health sciences through academic exchange, training programs, and joint research initiatives. It also promotes medical tourism between China and Pakistan.
Moreover, the agreement encourages technology transfer and innovation to improve healthcare systems in both countries.
Plans for International Campus and Joint Programs
Under the agreement, the institutions will explore establishing an international campus of Riphah International University in China. The initiative will focus on joint degree programs and collaborative research in medical sciences.
TCM Academy to Be Established in Pakistan
The MoU also includes plans to establish a Traditional Chinese Medicine academy at Riphah International University. The academy will align with World Health Organization standards and promote integrative medicine combining traditional and modern practices.
Strengthening Bilateral Medical Collaboration
The agreement marks a significant step in advancing institutional partnerships between China and Pakistan. It also aims to build capacity in healthcare education, research, and professional training through long-term collaboration.
