Xi'an is busy with preparations for the 10th Silk Road International Expo, which will be held in the city from May 21 to 25.
The port-trade-industry exhibition zone, one of the expo's six major zones, covers 10,000 square meters and focuses on the new quality productive forces of land ports and airports, as well as the internationalization of transportation networks. It also highlights the strategic role of the China-Europe Railway Express as a major international trade corridor.
Xi'an International Port Group is now recruiting exhibitors from logistics, trade, and manufacturing enterprises located along the Silk Road to participate in the expo, showcase their strengths, conduct business negotiations, and further deepen cooperation in international trade, investment, and services, boosting the open economy's high-quality development.
The city has enhanced its capacity for internal and external opening-up in recent years, with the China-Europe Railway Express (Xi'an) having played an increasingly prominent role in smoothing domestic and international circulation, boosting trade exchanges, and driving industrial agglomeration.
The China-Europe Railway Express (Xi'an) operated 6,037 trains in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 21.1 percent, ranking first nationwide in operating volume for seven consecutive years. It currently has 18 international routes and 26 domestic routes, covering the entire Eurasian continent, with the cumulative number of trains operated exceeding 33,000, accounting for 25 percent of the national total.
