China states objection to US arm sales to Taiwan ahead of Trump's visit

The Foreign Ministry reiterated China's consistent and clear opposition to US arms sales to Taiwan when responding to a question on Tuesday regarding US President Donald Trump's visit to China.
According to US media reports, Trump plans to discuss US arms sales to Taiwan during his upcoming state visit from May 13 to 15.
In response, Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said that during President Trump's visit to China, the heads of state from both nations will engage in in-depth discussions on major issues concerning China-US relations, as well as world peace and development.
"China's position against US arms sales to China's Taiwan region is consistent and clear," he added.
