A two-month Dominican Republic-themed dinner buffet has opened at Signature's Restaurant at the Kempinski Hotel Beijing Yansha Center in Beijing, as part of a collaboration with the embassy of the Dominican Republic in China.
Running from May 11 to July 11, the event highlights Dominican cuisine and culinary traditions through a menu developed by the embassy, the hotel's culinary team and guest chef Nikol Morillo.
"Signature's Restaurant has always served as a culinary window to the world," said Christian Wiendieck, managing director of Kempinski Hotel Beijing Yansha Center. "Following the exceptional reception of our previous Mexican, Greek and Argentine showcases, it is a privilege to continue this tradition of rotating international dinner themes. Through this exciting collaboration, the vibrant flavors of the Dominican Republic arrive in the capital."
The program was officially introduced during a cocktail reception hosted by the Dominican embassy on May 12. Jose Julio Gomez Beato, ambassador of the Dominican Republic to China, attended the launch event alongside invited guests and media representatives.
The buffet menu includes a range of traditional Dominican dishes, reflecting indigenous, Spanish and African culinary influences. Featured items include chicharron, sancocho stew, pastel en hoja and grilled longaniza sausage served with wasakaka sauce. Desserts include habichuelas con dulce, a sweet red bean-based dish commonly associated with Dominican culinary traditions.
The restaurant is also serving three Dominican-inspired cocktails during the promotional period, combining Caribbean ingredients with Chinese elements such as oolong tea.
The themed buffet is available Monday through Saturday at Signature's, located on the first floor of the Kempinski Hotel Beijing Yansha Center in Beijing.
