The 13th Silk Road International Film Festival is scheduled for September in Xi'an, with the competition section now open for submissions from filmmakers worldwide. The deadline is July 10.
The festival calls for submissions of feature films, animated films, and documentaries from across the globe. Feature films and animated films shall have a minimum runtime of 70 minutes, while documentaries shall be at least 60 minutes long.
All entries must have been completed on or after Jan 1, 2025. The organizing committee will prioritize works that have a world or international premiere. Films with non-Mandarin dialogue must be subtitled in either English or Chinese. Domestic entries must hold a public screening license, and all films will be screened in DCP format.
Submissions can be made online via the official festival website. Applicants may also submit entries by providing a portable storage medium or a valid online viewing link. Preview copies are limited to MOV and MP4 formats, with a file size cap of 5 gigabytes.
Online submission links and access passwords must remain valid until Sept 23. Preview copies must be sent to the film review group at Qujiang Film and TV Building in Qujiang New District no later than July 10.
