A marriage registration office in Handan, North China's Hebei province, was flooded with couples on Wednesday in celebration of May 20, which sounds like the words "I love you" when spoken in Mandarin.
In Guangping county, couples began lining up early in the morning outside the county's civil affairs bureau, waiting to make their unions official.
Staff maintained smooth procedures amid a warm and joyful vibe.
