CNOOC pretax profit up on units' higher sales

In the statement, CNOOC said the contribution from its oil service, engineering, chemical and finance units to the group's earnings and sales has been "significantly increasing."

In October, the company acquired China National Chemical Construction Corp amid a nationwide state-enterprise restructuring move to boost its presence in more business areas such as fertilizer production, research and trade.
