China International Capital Corp (CICC) may set up brokerage and futures units to boost profit after a lack of services eroded earnings last year, China Business News reported, citing an unnamed source.

The investment bank is in talks with its shareholders to raise funds for the new units, the newspaper said.

CICC has applied to register names for the two new units with China's State Administration for Industry and Commerce, the newspaper said.
