Shanghai index climbs, 04/09(China Daily)Updated: 2007-04-10 11:11 China's main stock index hit a record high for the sixth straight day yesterday, rising 2.27 percent as bank stocks bounced after Friday's weakness and life insurers soared. The Shanghai Composite Index ended at 3,398.950 points, less than a point off a new all-time high hit earlier in the day.
