Gas price set for Sinopec's Puguang gasified in Sichuan

China's Sichuan provincial government has announced Wednesday official gas prices of China Petroleum & Chemical Co.'s Puguang gasfield at about 1.28-2.12 yuan per cubic meter.

According to the announcement, the factory gas price is set at 1.28 yuan per cubic meter, while the gate price in Shanghai will be 2.12 yuan per cubic meter, about 60 percent higher than the price from PetroChina's West-East gas pipeline.

The price difference between the two major gas pipeline operators has stirred public speculation of a general gas price adjustment
