Lightning killed 173 sheep in Hoboksar Mongolian autonomous county, Tacheng prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, on July 10, 2012, people.com.cn reported Wednesday.
According to the website, 143 sheep were hit and killed directly by lightning and 30 sheep were washed away.
The loss is estimated to reach more than 200,000 yuan.
