China's first auto interior air quality standard will take effect on March 1. Issued by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, it defines the limits for eight common volatile organic materials including formaldehyde and benzene but carries no legal sanctions for violations.
