A recent survey found that television was the top choice of Chinese for acquiring scientific and technological information, with the Internet the least favorite.

Nearly 91 percent of Chinese sampled said they learned about the newest scientific and technological developments through TV, while 7.4 percent said they used the internet, said a national survey conducted by the China Association for Science and Technology.

About 44 percent interviewees chose newspaper and magazine, and 22 percent tuned in the radio, according to the survey released Tuesday.

The survey also showed that 76.2 percent of people said TV is the most frequently used media in their daily live, while only 3.8 chose the internet.

The survey, sixth of its kind since the 1990s, sampled 8,570 people aged from 19 to 69 from April to June across China.
