A 105-year-old cataract patient has surprised doctors and neighbors because he is able to read books and newspapers after his operation.

Liang Duomou of Guangdong province is now the oldest person in the city to have a cataract operation.

The farmer from Liangwu village in Shigu township got the free operation as part of a special project.
