Guangzhou's Grand World Scenic Park has closed, Guangzhou Daily reported on Monday.

The Eiffel Tower, Pyramids, and Taj Mahal are all closed – in Guangzhou. The 480,000-square-meter Grand World Scenic Park, which features reproductions of famous sites around the world, has shut its doors, according to the Guangzhou Daily.

A poster hanging on the park's walls says it has "suspended its business for construction from June 12, 2009." but it doesn't specify when the park will reopen, and there was no construction team visible in the park either.

A guard at the park said the park had no money to operate, that he interpreted the suspension as evidence of the park's bankruptcy.

Opened in 1995, the park received over 100,000 visitors and about 30 million yuan (US$4 million) ticket revenue per month during its prime time in 1996.
