Coal mine blast kills 11 in N. China

Eleven workers died in a coal mine gas explosion in Jinzhong city of North China's Shanxi province on Monday morning, the Xinhua net reported.

The State Administration of Work Safety confirmed the death toll on its website today.

The blast occurred at about 11:10am at Xingguang Coal Mine in Heshun County while 16 miners were working underground. Two workers have been rescued and three others are still missing.
