Chinese archaeologists recently found some remains of the debris of Great Wall built during the Qin and Han Dynasties (221 BC-AD 220) in Tonghua County, Jilin province. The new discovery moved the possible start of the Qin Han Great Wall 10.9 km to the east, Xinhuanet reported.

The remains, found at Nantaizi, site of a Han city, were a 172-meter rectangle-shaped structure built from mud and stone. The northern part of the Great Wall was well preserved, about 4 meters high.

The archaeologists discovered the remains during recent research on the resources of the Great Wall held in Jilin, which led to a redefinition of the east end of the Qin Han Great Wall.

Some relics of Han Dynasty including stone relics and potteries have also been found.
