Magpies destroy 5,000 kg of apples in a month

A growing number of magpies are giving farmers of a village near Dalian, Liaoning province, a hard time as the birds eat up all the apples they grow. The magpies have already destroyed 5,000 kg of apples in the past month.

"The situation is getting worse as the population of magpies is growing in the region. We don't know how to save our apples," said a farmer.
