Ward boys drop 'heavy' patient off stretcher thrice

Updated: 2009-10-27 09:13 Two ward boys of a 120 emergency center have been dismissed from service after they dropped a patient off the stretcher thrice while carrying him to the ambulance in Wuhan, capital of Hubei province, last week. The ward boys complained the patient was too heavy. A resident surnamed Tang said she phoned 120 after her husband, surnamed Lin, complained of gastric perforation on Tuesday night. Tang said the two ward boys put her husband on a stretcher and dropped him to the ground as many as three times while carrying him down from their sixth floor apartment to the ambulance.
