China creates 9.4m jobs in urban areas from Jan to Oct

BEIJING: China created 9.4 million new jobs in urban areas in the first ten months, the Ministry of Human Resource and Social Security said Saturday.
The number represented 104 percent of the whole year target for 2009, the ministry said. Around 4.4 million laid-off workers were re-employed in the January-October period, or 88 percent of the 5-million goal for the whole year.
