Hu urges armies to help drought victims

Chinese president Hu Jintao has urged the People's Liberation Army (PLA) and armed police force in drought affected area to put all efforts into helping drought victims, people.com.cn reported today.
The PLA General Staff Headquarter and PLA General Political Department made a joint announcement later the same day to further guide all related armies and staff to fight the severe drought in southwest China. Providing drinking water would be the top mission, according to reports.
