CPC to promote peaceful development of cross-Strait ties

BEIJING - The Communist Party of China (CPC) will continue to promote peaceful development of relations between the mainland and Taiwan while seeking reunification of the nation, according to a communique issued by the 5th plenum of the 17th CPC Central Committee on Monday.
Peaceful development across the Straits should be firmly insisted, with efforts to deepen economic cooperation and to enhance exchanges among all circles on both sides, the communique said.
