Senior official removed from post for disciplinary violation

BEIJING -- Liu Zhuozhi, former vice chairman of north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has been removed from his official post due to alleged "severe disciplinary violation," a spokesman for?the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee's Organization Department confirmed Thursday.

Liu's case is now being handled "in accordance with procedures," the spokesman said, without offering details.
