GUANGZHOU -?One person has died and another four were injured after scaffolding collapsed at a construction site on Saturday in Foshan City, Guangdong Province, local government said on Sunday.

Around 10 am Saturday, five workers were buried under the collapsed scaffolding of a three-story building under construction in the Baini Township in Foshan's Sanshui District, said a statement released by the district government.

All five were pulled out alive and rushed to hospital. One died from injuries after treatment failed, while the other four are still in hospital but in a stable condition.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
