JINAN - Senior Chinese official He Guoqiang has reiterated the importance of maintaining stable and relatively fast economic development and strict Party administration.

He, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the comment during his four-day inspection tour of Shandong province from April 20-24.

He said that enterprises should upgrade technology and innovation to build their own brands to compete with others.

As he visited farmland in the agriculturally-developed province, He asked farmers to increase production and improve field management to ensure a bumper harvest this summer.

He also inspected a town renovation project in Jinan, the capital city of Shandong, and asked local authorities to ensure good construction quality while improving community facilities.

He urged grassroots Party organizations to strictly abide by the Party disciplines and keep highly consistent with the CPC Central Committee, of which Hu Jintao serves as the general secretary.

He noted that the whole Party should resolutely implement the decisions made by the CPC Central Committee and make concrete efforts to maintain stable and sound conditions.
