"We need a more balanced world, and Europe is an element of the balanced world," said Laurent Fabius, foreign minister of France, at his conferment ceremony as chair professor of International Relations and Global Governance of Nankai University in Tianjin on Monday.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France, Fabius made his third visit to Nankai University, to deliver a lecture on France's International Strategic Focus and Sino-French Strategic Cooperation.

"China's rise and Sino-French cooperation will become a very important power in global governance," Fabius said.
