The Nanjing International Cultural Exchange Association and Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific announced on Monday that five film directors have been nominated to shoot documentaries about the city, which will hold the second Youth Olympic Games in August.
The five documentaries will be first broadcast on Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific and affiliate TV stations in China in September.
The directors are winners of the "Nanjing Calling - Discovery's First Time Filmmakers Initiative", which was launched in December and required contestants to make Nanjing-focused documentaries. Around 100 film proposals were submitted.
