The founding ceremony of the fundraising committee for social welfare was held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on June 3, 1987. After the foundation of the People's Republic of China, the lottery industry sprung up in the middle of the 1980s. In 1987, China for the first time issued 80 million lottery tickets to raise funds for social welfare. |
