Qi Zhi, who has been a carpenter for 38 years, owns a small workshop in Changchun, capital of Northeast China's Jilin province. He is good at making various shapes and patterns in wood on a spinning lathe. Qi said the work needs not only splendid skills, but also observation and creation.
