It's been reported dozens of times that people make money from letting people beat them.

Many of them are in a hopeless situation where they need money, usually for some family member's surgery. But some take advantage of their physical practice of kung fu or other exercises and choose it as a profession.

Xinhua's Telegraph Daily reported that 48-year-old Xie Shuipeng has made a living by having people pay to punch him in the stomach, which earns him around 20,000 yuan each month.
