Talks on Taiwan observer status

TAIPEI: The mainland and Taiwan will hold talks on the island's bid for observer status at the World Health Organization, an official said on Friday. The mainland has agreed to a meeting at an undisclosed overseas site before the assembly convenes on May 18, "presidential office" spokesman Wang Yu-chi said. The mainland has said it will make "fair and reasonable arrangement" for Taiwan to participate in international organizations.
