Obama weighs in on IS captive

China Daily | Updated: 2015-02-03 08:30

The US is doing everything in its power to rescue a 26-year-old woman held by the Islamic State group, President Barack Obama said on Sunday.

He was speaking during a wide-ranging interview with NBC that also covered politics and a measles outbreak.

His comments came a day after Japanese journalist Kenji Goto was purportedly beheaded by the militants. Obama said he has watched videos of hostages being beheaded.
