Abe, Modi likely to announce bullet train deal

By Zhang Yunbi | China Daily | Updated: 2015-12-12 08:12

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is expected to announce with his Indian counterpart on Saturday a deal for India's first bullet train.

Abe arrived in New Delhi on Friday for a two-day visit to meet with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Part of the media attention about the high-speed railway contract has been focused on India opting for a Japanese product while China is greatly expanding its share in the global bullet train market.
