Ad posters from the 1930s, a plate from a popular restaurant in the 40s, photos of Hong Kong in the 50s, clocks made in 60s and autographed photos of film stars in the 70s will headline an auction of items from Hong Kong's past on Saturday.

The owner of these items, surnamed Wong, said he had been collecting these items for 30 years and spent effort and money to keep them in good condition.

All Arts Auctioneers, which organized the auction, said the company does not expect to make a profit because these items are not popular with the younger generation. Still, it would be a shame if these heritage items were lost, a manager said.
