The China Disabled Persons' Federation and the Rick Hansen Foundation signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate in spinal cord injury treatment advancement and create accessible, inclusive communities, in Beijing on Wednesday.

The event is part of the foundation's 25th anniversary international program, an initiative to commemorate the quarter century since Hansen’s Man in Motion World Tour, which took the wheelchair-bound man over 40,000 kilometers and through 34 countries in 26 months to raise awareness of the potential of people with a disability.

Hansen plans to visit Shanghai, Shantou and Hong Kong to forge additional partnerships in the areas of research and accessibility through a series of collaborative agreements.
