MISSED CONNECTION
Signs foreshadowing the couple's split last Wednesday have been evident for months. In Miami in August (left), Nick Lachey is "showing subservience" to Jessica Simpson, Wood says, but "she's not giving him the same attention back." On Nov. 12 in Calabasas, Calif., the couple are even more distant. The position of Simpson's arm "is a signal of, 'Don't touch me' And he's almost two steps ahead. There's a lack of connection.'"
