The Jiangshan wetland, the biggest inland wetland within the Jiaodong peninsula, is another sanctuary for migratory birds, occupying an area for some 20,000 mu (1,333 hectares) in Laixi, East China's Shandong province. More than 400 species including white swans, common cranes, egrets and wild ducks live and breed here throughout the winter season.
