The city of Shaoguan in South China’s Guangdong province held a series of Constitution Day promotional activities in Wengyuan county on Dec 1.

During the promotional events, civil servants assumed office and selected young students took an allegiance oath to the Constitution and the “No Drugs” slogan. Dance and drama performances were also held on the day.

Around 20 government departments and law enforcement agencies provided on-site consultation services, distributed leaflets, and displayed some legal promotion billboards, drawing attention from residents. The consultations revealed that family planning and protecting workers’ rights were the major concerns to people.

Zhang Ping, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Shaoguan Municipal People's Congress, delivered speeches and awarded the third batch of “National Advanced Counties (Cities) for Promoting Rule of Law” plaques.
