The evaluation meeting of the Dehong 2011 International Water-splashing Festivalkicked off at the Dehong Ethnic and Religious Affairs Bureau on Feb 10, 2011, during which the top three works were selected.
Zhou Zhanhong, general secretary of Dehong prefecture and director of the Dehong Ethnic and Religious Affairs Bureau, was present at the meeting.
During the meeting, the judges present agreed that the nominated works, reflecting the culture of the Dai ethnic group, featured novel designs, simplicity, and innovation, and manifested the theme of ethnic solidarity.
The award-winning badge took the peacock as its main element, combined with auspicious holy water. Both elements symbolize happiness and good luck. The badge fully manifests the tenderness, vigor and kindness of the Dai people. And its green color, supplemented by yellow, also reflects the green original ecology concept.
