By Su Yang

Date: 2004/06/14

Abstract:

The sand industry in?three North China regions is fast growing, which is assumed beneficial to both eco-system protection and economic development. However, due to lack of knowledge of this unique industry, there has been a lack of planning, funding and support; and in many places it has become an excuse to reclaim the land for crop fields, which brings threat to the eco-system in greater areas. A suggestions is made in pursuing local government to abide by the law of sand control, to prioritize eco-system protection as the top goal, to improve planning and general regulation, to base supportive policies on local conditions, with the purpose of coping the sand industry with national ecological system projects, and to create a mutual improvement mechanism.?
