A five-story refrigerated warehouse with a capacity of 30,000 tons is under construction at Dongao Central Fishing Port in Pingtan, Fujian province. The construction is expected to be completed in the first half of 2016, according to ptnet.cn on Dec 9.

With a total floor area of 25,000 square meters, the warehouse will boast world's leading refrigeration technology and advanced cold storage facilities. It will also include a 1,300-square-meter processing workshop.

Local officials said that the warehouse is designed to be an e-commerce base with multiple functions of purchasing, processing, quick freezing and cold storage.

Once completed, it will increase the output value of over 100 million yuan ($15.6 million), which will advance the economic development of both Dongao Port and Pingtan, added the officials.
