Fujian province has set out 254 key marine economy projects for 2015, including 16 in the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone.

The ocean projects in Pingtan range from marine equipment and ship manufacturing to renewable energy, desalinization, fishing, tourism, and scientific research.

Six of them are already being built,including the Tannan Bay tourism complex, the Haitan Ancient City, the Pingtan Ocean Culture Center, the State Sea Island Research Center and the port in Jinjing Bay district.
