Plant resources

Hebei has brewing plants, herbs, fiber plants, commercially raised subtropical trees, timber including Chinese pine and other coniferous species, and medicinal plants including the jujube and the kudzu herb used in Chinese medicine.

It also has abundant fruit trees, especially in the Yanshan and Taihang Mountains, that produce pears, apples apricots, kiwi fruit and others, as well as chestnuts, walnuts and red dates.

Hebei is renowned for varieties such as the Xuanhua grape, the Changli apple, the Cangzhou ziziphus jujuba and Jingdong chestnut.
