North China building Chinese culture city

The China Low-carbon Industry Investment Center, in Beijing, announced the beginning of work on an "Ordos- Chinese culture city" in the city of Ordos, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Jan 17, noting that the city will hold 56 ethnic villages to represent different ethnic groups and architectural styles.

These will display distinct food, clothing, song and dancing characteristics, as well as languages and lifestyles, as a tribute of the 70th anniversary of the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, which comes in 2017.

The Investment Center is putting 50 billion yuan into the culture city, which will cover 16.5 square kilometers, with construction work set to start this coming May and completing scheduled for the region's 70 anniversary.

The China Low-carbon Industry Investment Center is a national investment site of the China Tourism Acceleration Association (CTAA), various government, finance and media departments, and research institutes, enterprises and institutions, as part of the "12th Five-Year Plan (2011-15)".
