Dancers from Saint Petersburg, Russia, gave a ballet performance for children in Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, according to a July 25 Baotou Daily report.

The Nutcracker is a ballet based on a book called The Nutcracker and the Mouse King written by E.T.A. Hoffmann, with a score by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The ballet has enjoyed enormous popularity since the late 1960s with performances by countless ballet companies, and it is an especially popular Christmas production.
